Rupp Arena Becomes the Dawg House...At Least for One Night
The 2006 edition of the Hazard Bulldogs captured their 30th, that's right, 30th (third most in the history of the state) 14th Region Championship and took part in the 89th KHSAA Sweet 16. What a feeling and what a great reward for a group of young men and coaches who worked so hard this season, and overcame many hardships and disappointments, to capture this coveted crown, their first since 2001. This capped off a 22-10 season which ended with a loss to the highly favored Madison Central Indians in the first round of the state but that did not diminish the joy of a truly magical season.
